    Looking for Officer KIA Crete

I only have his first names. No last name, no unit.

Hans Theo -maybe short for Theodor-

Are there list of FJ Officers who were KIA in Crete?

    Thank you for any information.

The only officer I can find there is
    Hauptmann Theodor Hofmann (18.9.1909–20.5.1941)

Eric Queen once posted a nice 1936 picture ("the very first class to go through Stendal") with him as Uffz.

Gentlemen, thank you for your replies.

Not sure if this is the chap. Some information fits such as him being a very early Infanterie FJ and the date of the death. He also was an Unteroffizier at one point. On the other hand the date of birth does not fit.

          One of the parents wrote-
My loving only son, Hans Theo, born on 2 September 1918 and fallen as an active FJ Officer on 20 May 1941 during the mission on Crete.

In the photo he is still Unteroffizier but with the same black ink the parent blackened the silver braid of the NCO on his collar and shoulder boards.

There is only one Hans Theo Hof(f)mann in the database of the German War Grave Commission, but he was born on another date and died in Russia.
Strange, the Crete KIAs should be there.

            Name:
            Hofmann
            Vorname:
            Hans Theodor
            Dienstgrad:
            Schütze
            Geburtsdatum:
            10.06.1921
            Geburtsort:
            Würzburg
            Todes-/Vermisstendatum:
            05.09.1941
            Todes-/Vermisstenort:
            Sanko.2/10 mot. Smetneff

Perhaps it would be easier if you show the photo, front and rear on the forum so we can investigate this further.
