          Hi Michael,

          How many slings are known ?
          Less than 10 ?

          Due this small number i think it is hard to make statistics regarding rarity.
          IMO it is close to 30/70.

              My thoughts as well....

              Does look like a former FJ collector though...

                Hey MC,
                Not sure but there has to be a dozen or two out there somewhere. Yes, honestly we will never know. Cannot draw any conclusions.

                  "Greetings,
                  I have been wondering about that for years. I have yet to find a photo of any soldier (other than FJ) using one of these. I'm still looking and hopefully some day, one will turn up. You would think that the SS would probably use these too. Sincerely, DJB "
                  ==========================================
                  Yes, the SS used these pouches too. See page 217 of the book "7.SS-gebirgsdivision im Bild" from Munin Verlag.
                  There's a picture of a SS-soldier wearing a 6 mag-pouch!

                    Non-FJ with six mg. pouch

                    Here's another photo of someone other than a FJ with one of the 6 mag pouches. A LW soldier on security detail. I'm assuming it's somewhere in the Balkans, but someone with a keener eye may be able to pin the location down based on the vehicle and the insignia on the door.

                    No idea why the pictures persist in loading as 'portrait', but you get the idea.

                    Michael
