    Uniform jacket Paratrooper Nr. 2

I will show you an other uniform jacket of the paratrooper I showed you in this forum --->

    http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...d.php?t=510256

The jacket is also well preserved.

But I think it’s not German !? Maybe it’s a booty from the Britisch Army ??

Can you help me ? What’s Your opinion ?

It' similar, but not identical to this one.

If it belongs to that group and its from a Crete campaign veteran its possibly ligit and these tunics are indeed foreign "beute pieces", captured British stocks from
commomwealth troops defending Crete, and reissued to FJ. The stamps I think would make it an Indian made garment, not unusual for the Med. theatre.
They used modified standard "KD" (Khaki Drill) uniforms as well as "Khaki Drill No.2 (Green) O.R. " style jackets.
I believe these were for the most part only issued and used post battle for garrison duties on the island...
as Crete is remote and possible issues with getting adequate stock of standard clothing lead the issuance of theses UK origin improvised garments!
Images borrowed from another thread! Note GJ tunic with altered WH style collar posted by another WAF member on a similar thread covering these Crete beute uniforms.

The tunic can also be a recreation of such a period garment... I am not too keen on the breast eagle...replacement? looks fake and mounted too low...

I believe they are cut down, pre-war Khaki Dill jackets like those made in Cairo in WW2.

He may have worn this jacket, but he did not wear it with that eagle on it.

                              true word ...

This is a original british "crete" booty jacket with postwar added insignia ( eagle, tabs, cord etc ...)
