Hi,
I'm new here and I'm searching for pictures of the 9. Kompanie Fallschirmjägerregiment 3 (9./FJR 3) for the period Mai 1942 to April 1943.

At this time my great oncel was member of this unit.
He died at 28.03.43 near Lushki (Luzhok) not far from Smolensk.

He died at the Knobloch Höhe, this information is from the book Pictorial History of Fallschirm-Jäger Rgt. 3 Volume 2.

Has anybody pictures or something else from this unit.
I would be very happy.

Rang: Gefreiter
Birthdate: 16.06.1922
Place of Birth: Nissmenau
Date of death: 28.03.1943
Place: 2 km nördl. Lushki
Identification Tag: 63092/1091


This is a early picture from 1941 - I think. Before he joined the paratroopers.



He was owner of the Fallschirmschützenabzeichen and the Eisernes Kreuz 2. Klasse.

Hi Kurt , as i see this world is so small and could you imagine that the place where you wrote is right .... it's crazy but I am the one of these who found your uncle during our researches of Russian MIAs there ...We have dig on the hill Knobloch every year and already found some MIas FJ ... he was in the trench on the first line of defending positions /we found him 2 years ago and this spring remains of body were given to WAst ! They already should be burried on the local cemetary . Below the photo of his ID tag found with him together ...i have a lot of pix of that place during our trips /

Hi Sergey,
that sounds so unbelievable - awesome. The ID tag looks so new after 60 years under the earth. Can you tell me on which cemetary he burried.
For which organisation do you work and why you don't gave the informations to the german organisation Volksbund Deutsche Kriegsgräberfürsorge.
They are searching also for german MIA's and KIA's in this area.

Please can you show me some pictures from you trips.
