cased Osang Para badge for opinions

My Assmann para badge got shot down as a fake which scared me off posting any of my other badges for a while because I was afraid to hear the worst. However I got up the nerve last night and posted a few cased LW badges and got thumbs up so I will try my cased Osang here and see what you have to say.

          Hi Holger,

Don't be afraid of this one, its perfectly fine and original in my opinion. About 10% of Osang Paras will be found with an upside down maker mark for some reason, and it can almost be considered a trait to look for on good ones

          I also like the case.

Where was your Assmann Para badge, I don't remember seeing it.

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

I don't get a warm feeling from the case IMO....I have doubts about the outher covering and 'brand new' pusher/catch.

Perhaps some LW case experts and more experienced collectors than me can jump in.

              Thanks.

Thanks Tom - I sent you a PM. It's good to see the various opinions. It looks like the Assmann thread was archived so I did a search on it...

                  Hi guys,

Regarding the case, it might be a good idea to post some dimensions and closeups of the hinge and catch arm, etc. These aren't common cases and the few I know of have been found with Juncker badges in them and date to early wartime (1940-1941).

                  Tom

p.s., Holger thanks for the link to the Assmann, my memory is extremely short term these days...

I will post some close ups of the case once we get some decent weather and I have some good light to work with.

OK, we got some sunlight late in the day so I took some pictures of the case. Short of tearing it apart I hope this is all you need to pass judgement...

                              Guys,

I'm afraid I do not consider this case to be an original, and if you look in the Luft case fake files I'm certain you will find this very ''smooth-grain'' pattern in there.
