Some beautiful views....

I post these beautiful photos, taken Saturday during a ceremony organized by some friends, who wanted to honor the memory of American and Canadian soldiers of First Special Service Force in the battle over "Winter Line". These friends have invited veterans and their families and in their presence, they unveiled a plaque made by them on the Mt. <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />La Radicosa.

Very nice Marco! Thanks for sharing this with us!

I also do a lot with Veterans here in Normandy,
the period around the 6th juni is always crazy.
We drive with our veteran-friends to commemorations
and visit some places where they have fought.
There are ofcourse some emotional moments, but
it is so unique to speak to those Men, to listen to
their stories, to enjoy what they must have felt.
It's a pitty that so much veterans leave us each year,
we have to keep the history and memories alive!

Another great thread by the one and only Marco - thanks!

Just a suggestion: What about posting this (or a link to those threads) in the "living history forum", so more members could see your great work?

Hi great pics of the vets in the mountains, my late Father served in Italy. Was this the unit portrayed in the film, The Devil's Brigade?

Thanks, Jerry
