      Hi guys,

Yes, my mistake, sorry. For some reason I associated 9 komp with II., but ofcourse you are right its III.

      Thanks

      Tom
If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

        Very nice grouping Shaun!

Nice to see material from the early jumpers.

It's interesting as well, at least to me, his service prior to the FJ. Below is the Order of Battle for Fall Gruen and where I./Jagdgeschwader 334 fit into the organizational structure.

        Nice items thanks for showing.

        Cheers

                Hi Tom,

To be more correct, it was III./FJR1 that dropped on Waalhaven, with 9., 10. and 11. (without Zug Kerfin) fighting over the Airfield (12./FJR1 was dropped to far away to engage in the fighting). III./FJR1 was afterwards send to Dordrecht and indeed involved in the fightings over there.
(Sources f.e. several Gefechtsberichten II./FJR1 and III./FJR1, Verleihungsliste "Erdkampfabzeichen der Luftwaffe" FJR1)

                Best Regards,

                Ypenburg

Wow, this is an excellent group!!!..

It is interesting to see Dordrecht specifically typed on the EK2 doc. I was under the impression that all FJR1 EK2 docs from Holland were stamped Tweede Tol (and signed by Brauer).

                  Some info on 9./FJR1:

"Anerkannte Nahkampfhandlungen für die Verleihung des Erdkampfabzeich.. der Luftwaffe
                  Fallschirmjäger-Regiment 1"

                  Polenfeldzug
14.9.1939 Angriff und Einbruch bei Jasionaca I. Zug 9./1
14.9.1939 Angriff und Einbruch südlich Susij-Mlyomek II. und III. Zug 9./1

                  Holland

From 11.5.1940 9.Kp. was attached to I./FJR1. (Report Olt. Schmucker, adj. III./FJR1, letter K.H. Schweiger 10./FJR1)

On May 12th I./FJR1 (2. Kp., remainders of 3.Kp., and 4./FJR1) with 9./ and 10./FJR1 attached were ordered to launch an assault into Dordrecht. This should happen in the morning of May 13th, however Rgt. cancelled the order in the evening of May 12th since it would be done by a special Force (Gruppe De Boer)(Report Walther, Kdr. I./FJR1).

                    Hi Shaun,
this is a great paratrooper estate which you have.
I always like the very early paratrooper from 1936 to 1941.

I wish you well on Friday Bafana Bafana
