Heer Fallschirm jager.

Dear friends and fellow collectors,

I recently got a book about Germany at the begin of the war (1939-1943), I found there a famous picture from Eben Emael (shown below) the first thing i noticed was that on the far left there is a Fj with a Heer breast eagle, i did never noticed this before.
Now my first though was that Heer fj quited in about 1938, but this picture was made in 1940, so my question is, when did the Heer fj quited their actions?

The Heer Fallschirmjägers did stop in the year 1938, BUT that does
not mean that they stopped using those early uniforms. I've seen
a lot of pictures taken after the year 1938 where you can see jumpsmocks
with Heer insignia. Hope this answers your question! Floris

thats a "old" wh FJ smock used later by luftwaffe FJ.

And remember that Heer eagles are also seen on later smocks worn by Brandenburgers.
