FJ units fighting near Kirovograd, Ukraine

I've just acquired a nice FJ helmet shell that was apparently found with 30 or so others near the city of Kirovograd in the Ukraine. The guy I bought it from said that it was there and Doneck that FJ units fought, and I'd really like to know as much as possible about what units there were, and anything about the actions. I'd appreciate anything anyone can tell me- specific details or references in which I can do more research. Thanks.
