Ehrenpokal holder Dr. Joachim Kirsch 2./Fallsch. San Abt. 7 documents

An interesting grouping I recently obtained of Dr Joachim Kiirsch who was awarded the Ehrenpokal in acknowledgment of his outstanding bravery and its exemplary behavior at Crete.

I would appreciate it if anyone could give me more information on where the 2./Fallschirmjager Sanitats Abteilung 7 would have landed.

    Thanks

    Andre

                            Hello André,

Nothing to say... except of ... this is a marvellous group !

The 2./San.Abt.7 (Feldpost. 26039) was involved in Crete under
                            Oberarzt Dr. LANGEMEYER' command.

Composed of 176 men as followed

                            - 4 Offiziere + Unterarzt
                            - 36 Uffz. + 135 Mannschaften

On 20.05.41, at 14.04 PM with 4 Ju 52s left Greece to Crete and landed on
                            West of Heraklion.

Oberarzt KIRSCH suffered from a lung shot.

On 21.05.41, LANGEMEYER get in contact with TvP III./FJR 1 Stabsarzt Dr. EIBEN. The HvP was located in Thalikuki.

On 26.05.41, in spite of his serious lung shot wound, Oberarzt KIRSCH was practising surgical operations !

On 09.06.41, the 2./San.Abt.7 moved to Chania and on 11.06.41 left Crete with the FJR 1. The unit lost 60 men in Crete.

                            Voilà.
