    Jump Boots Real or Fake?

    Hi Guys,

I will be posting in the coming days various FJ items which are coming from a friends collection. Some items were purchased direct from American vets and others were picked up over the years at the various shows. I'm hoping to get some clarification for my friend as to whether or not the items are real or excellent fakes. So honest opinions are welcome and any details you can share will help us all learn something new.

So here is the first item, a pair of mint unissued FJ Jump Boots.

    regards,
    Remy

Agree. Copies like these have been around for over 30 years, so many pairs are old and show it.

And they are of very poor craftmanship - I have worn my pairs 2 or 3 times, and already then the wooden nails start to "raise" and hurt my skin at the foot-soles...

Are the pair shown here the ones made by George Peterson or where they produced by someone else? Does anyone have a pair from this production run in their collection?

                regards,
                Remy

I had a pair like these for reenacting back in the '90s. As Patrick mentioned, they ran around $350 to $400. Not sure what I did with mine. They are not really even close copies and were made in the so called "tropical" jump boot version as well. "Continental" marked on the rubber.

Patrick, you are old enough to own "real" shoes now......

Thanks for the info Willi! I'll pass it on to my buddy. He had his doubts.

                      regards,
