Yep I can see it now, the lack of the downstroke on the "k" and the closeness of the "o" to the "m" had thrown me off the scent. Many thanks.

Eric is right, it is very rare to find a photo showing the combination of Paratrooper Badge, white RGG colar tabs and the RGG cuff title.

Much much rarer than a good portait photo of an FIK/FIB member.

Why it is so rare? No idea, because the Fallschirmjäger Bataillon RGG excist even longer than the Fallschirm-Infanterie Bataillon.

              it.

All RGG members had white collar piping, because white was the color of the RGG. Only the white tabs had piping in Waffenfarbe Red (Flak), Green (Jäger/Fallschirmjäger) and later yellow (Fallschirmjäger).

Yes, you are correct on the collar piping. My mistake. I just looked at some photos of an untouched RGG NCO flak 4-pocket tunic I used to own and it does have white collar piping.

I will have to look at my FJB RGG photo album that I picked up from Eric some time ago to see if there are any pics showing this combination insignia .

I would also like to mention that FJB RGG members were also used to establish FJR 1

Jean-Yves Nasse posted some nice RGG Fallschirmjäger pics in this thread:

                    http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...d.php?t=178063

And I had posted a close up of the yellow piped colar tabs.

Thanks Tom for posting the link. Those two photos of RAKEBRANDT are the two photos I referred to in post #1.

I agree with you that (for some unknown [to me] reason) the combination of 1. studio photo, 2. RGG sleeveband 3. paratrooper badge is much more rare than FIK/FIB studio portraits (which are extremely rare). As I said, this is the first/only one I have ever had. And the photo that began the other thread is the only other RGG FJ portrait photo I have ever found but you obviously cannot see the sleeveband in the photo.
