FJ Klappspaten?

Hi guys,
here is my little quetion to all of you FJ collectors.
Below is the pic with clearly visible klappspaten with the handle much smaller than usually. Does anybody know whether it`s just a maker variation or an early special FJ item?

I guess this was made by the soldier himself, or at best at comapny level (NOT here, compare to the "normal" spade on the far right).

Have seen M24 stickgranedes, shortened in the same way, used at EbenEmael.

I agree. US Airborne troops did the same thing.

Note the multiple color variation to what appears to be blue bandoleers.
