Couldn't fix the scanner yet, so...had to take shots with my camera of a couple more I haver found in a rush. Quality is low, but there is a mix of patterns here, water included. Taken in Italy.

Those all are coming from the very nice and interesting book from Mr. Valente.
That looks like a great book Daniele! Nothing better than FJ items and K43s with scopes!

Can you locate a source for that book? With my Italian menu guide I should be able to get through the captions!

It appears there may be a tab for ordering.

Useful link Mike! Anyway, should someone has any interest, I think I can get in touch with the author. It is a THREE volumes serie, very interesting and very well done, covering with great details the last part of war in this area. I am not sure there is an English version available.

Got it Larry! Sure, with no hurry I can try to deal straight with the author, and maybe ask for a better price. IF ANYONE ELSE HAS INTEREST, I will be happy to take more copies for all those who should like them.
Then, I can just ship 1 single parcel to one of you in the US... everything should be easy this way. Anyway, I am at your disposal if I may help.Just please...be patient with me, as cannot be that fast.

Done! Just wrote to author's email address. As soon as I have news, including costs, I'll update here. Please, let me know via PM or EMAIL if anyone else beside Larry would like copies. Take a look at Mike's link, is interesting.

Daniele, I inquired yesterday to the author's link inquiring about the availability of all three volumes. I certainly enjoyed browsing your copy as I crave the later war photos the most. Cheers, MD

I would take the set as well. Like Mike, I like late photos. Italy after Cassino is an area where there are few photos around.

Most books in English on the Italian campaign end after the fall of Rome in June, 1944. While there are many volumes available on the battles at Salerno, Anzio, Cassino and along the east coast, there are far fewer that cover the last year of the war. However, there is one recent book on that period - Italy's Sorrow: A Year of War, 1944-45, by James Holland. I have not yet read it but it has gotten decent reviews. I don't know whether it contains any photos.

Here's another volume that I picked up in Italy that shows excellent late war shots. I recommend it highly! There are even some nice images for those of us who are not all para all the time.
