    My meeting with veterans

    Hi

    here are some pictures of veterans of Fallschirmjäger Rgt 6 that I had the pleasure of meeting in the cemetery of La Cambe in Normandy.

                          Thanks for posting these photos Phil! It reminds me of why I continue to remain in this hobby. It is about the men who wore these items and those who brought them home!

                            Hi Phil,

                            Just to shed some additional information on this thread.

                            Heinz Gonnermann fought in Afrika with Paratrooper Engineer Regiment Barenthin 10 KP.

                            His brother, August Gonnermann, fought with FJR6.

                            The only reason I know is because I met Heinz at the 2009 SOS and bought his "Memories of the War". He is a great guy to talk to and fun to be with.
