Going through some boxes tonight and found this photo. Can anyone ID the Leutnant? Has an RK, a DK, a silver or gold CCC, an Observer badge, an FJ badge, an EKI, a black wound badge and, last but not least, an Afrika cufftitle. Oh yeah, 2 TDB's, as well.

Hi Gentry,
Looks like one tough cookie this guy, lots of decorations and if it is a gold CCC, shouldn't be too hard to narrow down. I was just looking through some books, and found some candidates for you, but not sure if they match up. One was Hans-Heinrich Richter. Richter served in Afrika and had the RK and CCC in gold. Another would be Rolf Mager, who had the FJ badge, RK and CCC in gold, but it didn't say if he served in Afrika or not.
Nice picture, hope you can figure out his name!

Unfortunately, no match with the names suggested.
Here's a young guy who is a mere Leutnant (and from the appearance of his boards and tabs, a newly promoted one) who is the center of attention of his former NCO/enlisted comrades. The wear of the (presumably) green HBT tunics suggests a date at least past mid-war and the combination of awards is a bit strange. An FJ badge and a CCC, but no Luftwaffe Ground Combat or even a Flak. An Observer badge worn in a position of greater prominence than the FJ badge. 2 TDB's....I'm thinking maybe Luft Felddivision?
Anyway, I appreciate all thoughts. This photo was apparently a US vet letter send-back, as on the back, in handwriting, it says "P.S.- Ever see so many rats ! in one bunch?, well here they are."
