FJ helmet opinion

Looks original but i think liners leather has been re-threated and the pad was turned from the back to the front . Shell also cleaned from inner . Would like to see whole helmet.

I am sure I looked at it at a recent show. Is there is a repair on the chinstrap somewhere ?

The one I looked at had fake rubber pads and replaced leather. The chinstrap was original but repaired. The shell and camo looked original, though there was a lot of paint worn away. The seller also had a camouflaged SS helmet for sale. Is it the same seller?

Yes, the chinstrap has a small repair. The leather is replaced but the seller says
this had been done during wear time. He would like to have $5.000 for it. Bad deal?

Sure sounds like the same helmet. If so, the leather and pads are definitely post-war. $5000 is too much IMO, even for a genuine camo shell .
