    Looking for Suggestions

I have just been sent to Stuttgart on business for 30 to 60 days. What museums do you recommend I visit on the weekends while I'm here? Is there a museum at the Luftlande-Lufttransport Schule in Altenstadt?

I didn't see this project coming and I didn't have the time to do any research beforehand.

    Thanks for your suggestions!

Hi Gerry, a search on the forum will bring up some suggestions as this question has come up before.

If you like history in general, the town museum housed in the castle where Stauffenburg was born is excellent and I can highly recommend it. The Bronze Age exhibits are superb.

    Cheers, Ade.

It is - just 50km north-west from Stuttgart. Also another "branch" of that one is at Speyer, just another hour to the west, lots of airplanes, submarine, etc.

There is the bavarian army museum (top!) at Ingolstadt, 70km north of munich. At munich itself there we have the "Deutscghe Museum", lots of planes, motorcycles, ships, Kübelwagen, etc.

There is not much to see at Altenstadt - but I live just 50km away, if you wanna come over...

          Patrick,

Isn't there a Gebirgsjaeger museum in the Garmisch area?

            Hallo,

the Gebirgsjäger-Museum are in Sonthofen. It´s a small but a nice museum!

In the area of Stuttgart is the museum Army-Museum of Raststatt (near Baden-Baden). It´s also a very impressive museum.

            regards

            Hannes

Thank you all! Now I'm going to have to plan some road trips.

Again thanks for the museum tips.
