                        When French troops became part of the Allied forces in Italy, other troops, especially many US troops were very skeptical about the fighting abilities of the FEC. Much of this attitude was because France had been so quickly overrun when WW II began.
                        General Juin and his French Moroccans would quickly prove all doubters VERY wrong!

                          Moroccan soldier. The Germans feared these soldiers because they were very good at fighting at night. Often they brought back the ears of enemies killed as a trophy.
