    SS FSJ Walter Redecker

Here is the back cover of the dvd that was given to me in Germany.
I knew Walter and was taken to his house to interview him. Unfortunately I only had a tape recorder with me at the time. A year or so later I was given this dvd, which will not play in the USA! Walter has since passed...boy could he tell a story!

If I get a copy I'll be happy to post a complete translation (word doc, etc, I've done this several times in the past for folks - gratis, growing up bilingual is an asset with type of stuff). Also be happy to help get copies out at cost and help with unlocking the region code issue. Inserting subtitles into the DVD is possible but would be possible, but a good deal more work.

Added translation from the pic (on the fly couple minutes to type)
              Walter Redeker
Kamerad Walter Redeker, former SS Uscha with the SSFJB 500/600 spoke on July, 2, 05 in Chmnitz about his eventful life before and after the war. W. Redeker, born 1926 (note: I can’t think of a good translation for Jahrgang – Germans identify themselves with there age/group this way by ref: the year they were born). , was trained at the SS Signals Rgt Nuremberg as a radio operator. At the end of 1943 he volunteered for the newly organized SSFJ Btln. After his training he jumped in <st1:country-region w:st="on"><st1lace w:st="on">Yugoslavia</st1lace></st1:country-region> on the Partisan Commander, Tito’s HQ and survived this daring and high casualty operation. After this he fought only in ground ops in the East. Sabotage training, 4 times in captivity, of which he escaped 3 times, are only a few of the aspects out of Redekers eventful life.
              The answer to Guido Knopp!
(Note: Knopp is known for his prefernce to put all the blame on the SS)
              With many additional Pictures!
              Run time ~ 125 minutes
Std disclaimer for protection from the authorities.

                  Some updates to this:
It turns out the DVD is a commercial release (still available). While I had initial contact with the OP, nothing panned out in getting a copy, etc. I was in the process of hitting up some German book distributers that I deal with to look into the DVD, when my RL buddy jagerroll found the DVD online. It's actual one out of a series. At this time I'm working on getting the series from the distributor (an obscure site, shopping basket works via email). Once I get the items I'll determine who owns the copyright to it and get with them. I don't want to violate a copyright, especial if it is linked to a vet fund.
I'll keep updating this as I proceed.
