    Splinter clip-on cover - fake

This fake could be yours for the bargain price of $2000!

It just popped up on a dealer's site and Larry passed it along to me.

Remember, we talk about the item and not the people involved.

This type of fake can be encountered in splinter, water and green. Been around for several decades by now. With all the books in print now that feature original covers, when will people get a clue?

I remember back in the 80's when they discovered these in SS Camo. I think they found a horde of them in Prussia.

That is King of Prussia Pennsylvania

Nice price though, I have been seeing an ss cover for 20,500 on one of the dealers site.

          Eugenirus,

Just to be clear, this para helmet cover is a $2,000 fake.

Larry, I understand it's a fake. I mean they do not sell it as a fake so they sell it as an original cover. So my conclusion is that authentic covers cost within the same range or am I wrong?

              Eugenirus,

If you can find a real splinter cover actually for sale, they will cost you considerably more then $2,000. I wish we could buy them for $2,000 each...I'd have a closet full.

              Best,

              Larry

To his credit, the dealer has removed the helmet cover from his website because it is a reproduction.
