Is the left arm of the swastika bent (twisted) or would such irregularities be acceptable for a badge of that maker?

Hi Frank,

Since the swaz, talons, wingtips (pilot & pilot/observer) were always hand finished, some 'personality' is acceptable. I agree with you that one side of the swaz arm is a bit asymetrical. It is not computer/ laser cut perfect. That is a good sign, I think. Note the tombac peeking out of the scratches on the wreath?

PS- I just checked on Lorenzo's site and looked at his Juncker Badge.....click and check it out. Rather similar, actually.

Have to agree that there was a lot of hand finishing on these Juncker badges. Besides having the same skinny left leg on the Swaz, all the weirdness on the reverse of the wreath is actually file marks that have been somewhat smoothed out by a lot of wear.

It is absolutly normal to find on the C.E.juncker paratrooper badges (especially the thick wreaths pieces) badly cut-out swastica's. The thinner (earlier-made ones) are much better finished. Be happy it has such a badly cut-out swastica...it's ORIGINAL!
