        Interesting photos.

I have seen a number of photos of FJ wearing M35 helmets in Holland 1940.

But, the smocks have me puzzled. Pockets and pocket flaps? What do you think Ben?

Both pics was on ebay last week, I decided to pass on it because of the bad conditions. When I asked the seller for more infos, he said both are end of war pics (???).
          Regards,

Thanks, so they're original, thank god!!
I wasn't sure about the originality.

I also think they're taken in Holland

But you never find out where they're taken.

I quess the type of smock is Type 2 Paratrooper Jump Smock.

here some more information about it and a picture:

                Hi Willi,

I also think that these are indeed late war (Sept.-Nov. '44) pictures.
Many "Market Garden" FJ's were equipped in this exact style, converted M38 and M40 smocks handed out from existing old stocks, M35 helmets and regular boots and they can be seen in many pictures during and right after Market Garden.
Whether these pictures were actually taken in Holland during that time will naturally remain a mystery but I did find several MIA FJ's that were "dressed" identically. They were all killed during the Sept.-Nov. '44 fighting.

Modified M38 smocks or M40 smocks didn't exist during the Holland Feldzug.
Also what appears to be 2nd pattern boots or even low boots.

                        Correct.

I agree the photos could be, and most likely are, from the fall of 1944.
