    wow Glenn. not that I see alot of Luft smocks but honestly, thats the coolest lookin' one Ive ever run across. love the amount of wear on it yet its still in great shape. if I could afford one of these that would certainly be the one I would want. very happy for you Glenn. Glenn

          Hi Willi,

          I found it...I thought this was just a damaged area,2 slits made to accept the button to fasten around the leg.

              In our reenactment group over here in the UK (FJR2) we are lucky enough to have a vet who was in FJD1 and later FJR6 and he told us that as the snaps weren't strong enough they used to sew buttons on and a loop on the opposite side which is what most of our group have done. In this example it seems that slits have been made but for the same purpose.
