    SS-Fj bataillon 600.

    Hello gents,
I found this picture in a german vets publication.
No eagle on the jump smock,Fj boots and a SS mutze.
And probably a SS buckle too.

These are regular Lufwaffe smocks without the eagle, not SS para smocks.

A Question I have pondered over and could never find the answer - did the FJ SS Btn 500 / 600 wear Luftwaffe FJ Jump qualification badges or Heer badges? I'm guessing Heer but has anyone got a picture or info confirming this?

                Thanks Mike

p.p.s. maybe there is a third FJ award badge - only for the SS, wow, what a thought...

I have gotthe same question. I have encountered both badge in wear by SS paratroopers.

For instance here is a Heer one ...

Walter Huemmel is wearing the LW version (in cloth) of the badge in this photo (not army).

I have seen Soldbuch's and documents referencing the FSA d. Heeres for trained SS personnel, but am not sure I have ever seen a photo of it in wear (other than the portrait of Walter Schau, where the badge is painted onto the image). Has anyone ever seen a photo of an SS paratrooper actually wearing the Fallschirmschuetzenabzeichen des Heeres?
