Decals on Camo Para Helmets

Is there any evidence that paratroopers ever camoflaged AROUND the decal, leaving it clearly visiable?

Bob, though not common you do encounter original camos that were painted around the decals. But, the vast majority I have encountered on the market and published in some books are bad. On both original helmets and Czech repros.
