    FG42 mag pouch ???

I got two pouches from a Fj vet house estate. One is used and blue and the other is mint condition in tan. Booth have the same markings Baumuster 3122, L 38054 and a stamp with BA ??
Inside is space for four magazin. He told me that this was for the magazins of the FG42. This guy is 82 years so I'm not 100% sure that it's true what he is talking.
    Any ideas???

I have never seen such a pouch, so am curious to hear what others may say.

I must admit it doesn't seem to be a very practical way of carrying mags. A zipper closure with no way to hang on the belt. But, you never know.

Hard to say whether it was actually used for FG42 Mags...but possible and it looks like it may be a custom job with rings for attachment of a shoulder strap.

Hard to say if it would be for FG42 mags .Immagine the mags in these divisions?I hardly see 2 mags rubbing against each other ,making noise and getting dammaged in combat situation. Further more have all accessories that deal with FG42, a FL 45... Number for those i know of(mags, scopes, muzzle caps). Maybe the luft specialist can help here by identifying that L38054 number.
Interesting piece however.Lets see if the mystery can be solved.

I was told that in an army ordonance museum in Pittsburgh is a display shown a FG42 with the same pouches invluding magazins.
I got this informations by phone so I'm not sure if I have written the city etc etc correct.

I don't know of any Army Ordnance Museum in Pittsburgh? The Army Ordnance Museum I believe is in Aberdeen Proving Grounds, Maryland. You might want to try and obtain photos of those pouches. I don't believe these were production made for the FG42.

I called him (he's from germany) and told him that the museum is in Aberdeen. He said that he couldn't remember the place because he was in many museums but he think it was a museum in Springfield

I had this in my collection and I first thought to a FG42 bag for magazines. Two
magazines for each place. However a Lw expert told me it is for sure a bag
for the magazines of a machine gun on board of a LW plane.

I was told by a airforce museum that no German plane used magazins in a bag. only in boxes which are mounted in the plane but who knows what they have done to the end of war__ maybe the number on the pouches can tell what they made for
