Photo showing early bandoleer and grenage bag in use

Thought you guys might like this photo of II./FJR1. Taken in the wooded area near Wola Gulowska, Poland Sept. 1939. Notice the guy on the far left wearing the early "FIK" style olive green bandoleer, and the guy in the middle with the early grenade bag.
Notice also the fixed bayonets !!

BTW, what´s hanging from the rider´s shoulder? A leather map case? I´d like to know, just because I´ve reciently got one like that (in the afirmative case...)

          Thanks and cheers.

Another one of Eric's photos that makes one wish for a time machine! "Sir, please tell me about your training and equipment, etc." Just great Eric.

I'd offer him a pack of smokes for that bandoleer...

Willi, I'd offer him a night with the best "lady" money could buy for the bandoleer AND the helmet!

I don't know the owner of this photo.

Just for those which do not have my first book. You may note a difference between the pictures printed and how they came back to me after they have been brutalised by the man who scanned them... moremad moremad ...

                            Jean-Yves,

This is horrible and disgusting! There is NO excuse for treating photos this way. A type of "art/photo" tape exists, which will not pull or tear photos (or other art) when the tape is removed. This type of "art" tape should have been used! Idiots!

                            I am very sorry,
                            John

An observation: In Jean-Yves damaged photos, all three paras are wearing splinter step in jump smocks. Many were produced, few survived.
