    Albaneta Farm Then & Now

    Hello...
    This "Then & Now" is take today near Albaneta Farm, during an historical meeting named "4 passi sulla Gustav" (translated is "walking on Gustav Line"). I meet the forum members Daniele and Gran Sasso..a very nice guys!

    The tank is a Stuart of 20th New Zealand tank regiment, destroyed by Fallschirmj******228;gers of 14th anti-tank company during the failed attack of March, 20 1944. The big mountain on background(no wery well visible in the "Then" picture) is Mount Cairo.

      I was there with my friends ,I'm in the sidecar smoking a cigar, in another famous battle for MonteC assino were the top of the hill was lost and recaptured by german gebirsjager against Maroch and Frenc troops six times

          Nice photos and web site. I enjoy the "then and now" theme. One day I will plan a trip to the Monte Cassino area.
