I would like to know if this FJ dog tag is OK (it seems that was dug out) and, if OKwhich unit belonged.
Where did fight this unit?

Where did fight this unit? Lehr means "learning" isn´t it? or is a sort of school...,where after their course they were sent to the front units...like the various FJ regiments...

I am not a dog tag specialist, so could be completely wrong, but the style, size, and messyness of the insciptions doesnt look to good to me. It may well be a fake dog tag made with a real code. You should ask on the dog tag forum.

they fought in Arnheim in october 1944 and in Roermond in february 1945

I have to agree with Jean Loup on this one. I've never seen the font or haphazard typesetting. The dog tag looks like it was original, but then cut with new holes punched or something similar. I've never seen this done to an original, but again, I'm no expert and perhaps more knowledgable experts can say on this.

I'd be interesting in hearing more on the authenticity as well.

If you are asking to GET a code, there were quite a few....broken down by company, and I believe one or two times were changed throughout WW2.

I'm not 100% sure if thats what you're asking, but I believe so....if you're wanting to buy a tag...then you'd be best off to post something in the Wanted section of the forum.

I do not know much about dog tags as well but is it a good idea to make sure that it has been registered? If this was dug up and it could be the last piece of i.d. that this soldier has. Has many others here have done so?
