Help for unknown Fj. officer in Normandy

Does someone know who is this Fj. Oberleutnant ?
The photo was taken in St. Lô area and its probably a member of 3. or 5. Fj. Division.

This Oberleutnant is the Ritterkreuzträger Gerhard Mertins kommander from Fallschirm-Pionier-Batl. 5.
Intresding: the Schulterstücke mit Schwarzer (Black) tresse.

Do you know when he got the RK ? After normandy battle ?

Hi everyone,
Ritterkreuz (1525) on 6 December 1944 as Hauptmann and Führer of Fallschirm-Pionier-Batailllon 5/ 5.FJD.
He was awarded the RK because during the retreat from Normandy his unit blew 46 bridges (between Frouard and Lanéville) and halted the pursuing enemy. He could successfully bring his unit through Nancy.

To the best of my knowledge Uncle Kurt hit the nail. Furthermore, Mertins´ features are very unmistakable.
On the other hand, although he doesn´t wear the FJ badge on your photo, he does wear the DKiG ("Stoff" on your pic?), awarded on 8 February 1943. The latter is another clue...
Finally, attached is also a similar photo of him for comparison.
