    FJ Helmet With Rivets

Acquired this helmet January 3, 1985 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The unique thing about the helmet is that the bolts were replaced with standard helmet rivets during the war.

This would certainly solve the problem of loosened or lost bolts during the conflict.

Wonder how common was this practice?

                            Ron,

I see the torture continues..... - Another great lid from a great collection!!! A feast for the eyes.

I've seen one, in the Angolia book I think, with these standard rivets. Should be very uncommon to find one of these.

It's weird to see the straps between the shell and the liner ring - looks like the owner used some force to get it in there.

                            Kind regards,
                            Frank.

That******180;s a sort of torture I really like

I saw 3 or 4, all were late war lids...... maybe the firm had some problems to find alu bolts at that time.

                              Great one Ron!!
