I don't normally dredge up old topics, but in my research of the Hermann Goring regiment, I found the following information from the Bender and Peterson book on Hermann Goering: From Regiment to Fallschirmpanzerkorps.
From the book:
"The basic Luftwaffe uniforms were worn by all personnel of the Regiment with the addition of the 'General Goring' cuff title and the white Waffenfarbe. As of December 1, 1935, the Regiment consisted of:
Regimentstab, I. Jager-Battalion, II. Jager-Battalion, III. Flak-Abteilung
The Waffenfarben for the above units was white, but with the following additions:
a.)officers-white with aluminum embroidery and aluminum piping
b.)NCOs and men (except in Flak-Abteilung) - white with rifle-green piping
c.)NCOs and men (from the Flak-Abteilung) - white with bright red piping"
He goes on to mention that this carries on until October 1, 1937, when the Regiment was enlarged and reorganized. Only members of the specific Fallschirm Battalion wore the white tabs with yellow trim, with other units continuing to wear the other trim as before.
This practice would have probably carried on until the unit became I./FJR1 in 1938 and wore the entirely yellow collar tabs. As a result, the reason that so few photographs/examples exist of this in practice is we are looking for ONE battalion of ONE regiment with a practice that was utilized in place for less than 6 months, whereas the green and red were utilized for much longer, and by the remainder of the regiment.
I know this is technically a necropost, but it is my hope that this information can maybe answer some questions in case the answer has been nagging at others, as I know it has been bugging me for a while as well, and I am finally relieved to have one more questioned marked off my long list of things I need to learn about.

-Edit: I missed the small section in which this information was already presented to a limited degree. I should really read the threads more closely....my apologies on that one!!! Jon
