I've just picked-up a copy of Eric Queen's new book on the early Army paratroopers, and have noticed in the first few pages that several men are wearing what look like "General Patton" boots,
which have three buckles on the back of the calf and a short laced section 'down low'.
What are these boots, and why do only some of the men have them?
Thanks,
Fergus.
