    Giday Sebastian,

Yes, there are still members of Sturmgruppe Granit alive today. I have been exchanging letters with one them for a while now.

When I get a chance, I will post a complete list here of the members of Sturmgruppe Granit.

    All the best,

    Ian

          Engelmann

Hi Sebastian! I think Kurt Engelmann (Squad 4) is still alive. In Greg Way´s booklet "Der Fallschirmjäger" tells the assault and how he faced it. He appears on the famous photo taken after the surrender (the one showing Wenzel wearing the bandage...). Engelmann is on the right. From left to right: Polzin, Schmidt, Wenzel, Bräutigam, Florian and Kurt Engelmann.

Ian, thank you for the complete list!

          Regards. Óscar

            Giday Sebastian,

Are you suggesting that Martin Schächter is still alive?

            All the best,

            Ian

As Ian said, the second man listed in each squad was the glider pilot. The first man listed is the NCO and squad leader. If anyone knows anything about Feldwebel Haug, leader of squad V, I would greatly appreciate it.

                regards,
                John
