Luftwaffe Wooden Bowl

[ENGLISH BOB]

A little find i picked up by chance on E-bay.
I bought it for use in reenactment, for our mess table.It is a Bread Bowl which i'm sure you will gather,on the Reverse it has carved ,
KRIEGSWEIHNACHTEN 1944
L 18197
and for our Italien Collegues
ROCCA LA CHIESA
ALANO DI PIAVE
MONTE GRAPPA

IT cost me $27 including shipping from the U.S.

Many thanks to Ian Jewison for the info he supplied to me.
L18197 = raised in Luftgau4 in winter of 42/43,2nd kompanie Luftwaffen-Bau-Batt. served Rossoch ,Russia then mid 43 to Italy,where i asume they stayed till the end of the war.If anybody could offer more light on this unit then i would be most grateful.

Hello Dave,
certainly looks like it at the moment, but its nice to know that inexpensive original items can still be found out there.
Don't Worry John,i'll take care of it forsure,i have more than enough parachute tins for packing gear in,though the Eagle will cause me a slight problem
