FJ opinions please! Better pics now!

    Hello, FJ specialists!

Now I´m able to post better pics from my FJ SD, ET 68 marked, helmet. Let´s try it again!

The chinstrap is very unusual, because it has two colors (dark blue/green and a lighter blue/green). The strap is movable in the bolts. The helmet-liner is dark and looks like cleaned with dubbin. In the helmet dome there is a inkstamp visible (not very good, but it´s there!).

    All your opinions are wellcome!

    Thanks in advance

    Gerd

                  Hi Gerd,

Looks 100% ok to me. Nice paint and decal! The liner and band look discolored in the photo, but it could be the "dubbin" you mentioned, this part is too bad. Still, a fine SD.

                  Regards,
                  John

                      The Stamps?

I just found the size stamp is on the front side of the liner instead of on the real side as usual as we known. Is it reasonable?
                      Regards,
                      Joseph

Joseph has a very valid point. I am not agreeing with you guys.......that helmet has "concerns"......I like the shell, paint, bolts and decals.......don't like the straps and liner. It has that "reassembled" look. Original liners always had the size stamps in the rear.......the maker stamps in the front.....always on the end that has the break in the liner band. The early West German liners have the size stamping in the front and no maker marks. Look at the break in the line band.

                          Hello!

Please have a look at picture No. 7!

Here is the second inkstamp, Willi searched for.

In this point Willi´s opinion can not be correct; it is still there!

The maker stamp, not very good, nearly in the same condition as the sizestamp, has 3 lines

                          Berlin C2
                          D???????.

OK, all stamps are in this liner, but in a "wrong" position.

Never heard/saw this before! Perhaps an individual wrong stamping?

                          regards

                            Hi Gerd,

You are not lonesome anymore. My best friend in Taiwan, who is also a WWII German militaria collector, has a similar LWFJ helmet just like yours, with "wrong position" stamps, too. Here are some pictures of the helmet :
