FJ Helmet Liner on German Ebay

What are the helmet experts thoughts on this one?

The photos are not very large, so it is impossible to be absolute. The liner does not look bad, but I am concerned with how shiny the aluminum liner band appears. It seems to lack 60 yrs of age. The chinstrap is not a strong positive. A tough call from the photos. Not a Czech repro liner and not an early West German issue one.

I agree with what Willi said, the photos are not large, and so there isn't enough detail for an accurate judgment.

Eric, I have several reservations about the liner. The matt appearance of the chin strap leather is one. Another is the shiny look of the ends of the rubber pads. The shiny almuinum band that Willi mentioned is another, it almost looks as though some fool cleaned it with steel wool. The leather and sewing of the liner looks good, and so do the markings except for one detail, and this is what concerns me most. Usually, the numerals within the ink "box" are larger and of a different font in liners marked with these early Heisler stamps. Yes, different size and different font stamps were used to mark sizes, but the size and shape these numerals still bother me. You may call me paranoid

John B., looking forward to your take on this liner.

      best,
      John
