Gas mask bag for Heeres Fallschirmjaeger?

    Hello all

Did the early army paratroopers have a unique gas mask bag, different from the one the Luftwaffe used? There is a bag in e-bay...I know...and the seller claims that this is the one and only original...

I have never seen such a bag before but I am not really fit in early Army paratroops either...

    thanks

The Heer FIK/FIB did not have a different gas mask bag. There was only one style. Plus, by 1939, as this bag is dated, the Heer FIB had been incorporated into FJR1 as the 2nd battalion.

That bag could indeed be a Heer item, but not Heer FJ.

I believe that's a Swiss "multi-purpose" or shoulder bag - they were later issued in the salt and pepper grey material as well.
