Verry interesting pieces but all seem to have been reblued.

Wow! Two of them. The description says they're indeed re-blued, and both are expected to bring $22,000 - $27,000 in that condition, according to the descriptions. I guess I wasn't too far off with my ballpark guesstimate of $30,000 the other day!

All 4 of those are exceptionally rare rifles! The re-bluing will hurt the value some. Am curious to see what they will bring.

Quite a few interesting collectables; lamps, artillery shells, dolls, etc. Demonstrates how us militaria collectors are only a piece of the collecting pie.

I've only seen and handled two of the plastic stocked 98-k's. One at Aberdeen and one in a private collection. Neither stock was this reddish color. I'm certainly no expert, but it makes me wonder....

Denny, I just spent a few hours with a collector who remembers when some of these rifles were faked in the '60s. Not saying these may not be authentic, but my friend was suspicious.

Various gunboard articles seem to indicate maybe 1000 were
made in the mid/late 30's. Many tested to destruction, shock,
                  extremes of temperature etc.
That very red plastic/resin, seems not to have been cataloged.

                  Cheers. John
