Hi all,
I'm searching information about the III./FJR4 (1FJD) during the first week of October 1943 in Italy. From what I have read around the web, it seems that through these first days the German soldiers inflicted and suffered numerous losses also due for hand-to-hand fights.
I don't know exactly if it was the Heilmann group or the Graßmel group who participated at those clashes because in that period, apparently, some companies were disbanded.
I only know that they fought side by side with the Flak-Abteilung 851 and the 4./Fsch.Pz.Jg.Abt. and that some soldiers of the panzerjäger abteilung were rewarded for those actions (in the month of November 1943) with a special letter of appreciation from the general Heidrich.
Does anyone have any information, documents or photos about those actions in October?
Thank in advance.
