My new Fj helmet

Well here is my new net camo Fj helmet.

Some of you may recognise it. It was mentioned in a thread a few weeks ago.

I am extremely grateful to a forum member for his truly expert opinion on the helmet, so far as he was able, considering I could only send him photos. Thanks again( I wont mention his name without his approval).

I am not, unfortunately an avid collector of Fj militaria, Heer awards, packets and cartons, and headwear are my thing, but, there is something about an Fj helmet that makes the hairs on the back of my nech stand up.

As an aside, but still relevent, during the period of your collecting life have you ever seen a picture of an object/item that as soon as you saw it you said, "I've got to have that, I want one" Yea, I know silly question!!

Well, this helmet is it for me.

I was watching a TV programme on the Fj in Italy, it was about the Germans retreating after the allied landing, well here's a cople of frames from the programme that have stuck in my mind for over 30 years
