dear people

at home i got a knife of the luftwaffe (from an estimate)
on the one site you got the eagle that fly's away whit the swastika in his clutch's
on the other site stand the letters "FL.U.V."
stands for Flieger Unterkunft Verwaltung.
can somebody tell me precise what the FL.U.V. did in the war.

Most of the time you'll find these markings on stuff used in barracks,kitchens,mess,stables etc..
Don't know the word in English,but now you've a idea..

Flight barracks administration..

Oftewel :
Het opschrift Fl.U.V. is een algemene afname-aanduiding. (Flieger Unterkunft Verwaltung).
Dit betekent zoveel als: "dienst voor luchtmacht gebouwen", of te wel, alleen bestemd
voor gebruik in luchtmacht gebouwen.
