FG 42 Patronenausstosser

Hello,
I have a question about my Patronenausstosser 15.
- Was it really only for the FG 42, or also for other guns?
- Can someone explain how it works? It is so big for a "Patronenausstosser"
-Wat would be the value of such an item?

I have allways believed it to be for the for the MG15. It fits the MG15 mag perfectly...

It is for unloading the drums of the MG15 I dont even believe that is has something to do with the FG42 .Makes no sense.You dont need a tool to unload a 10 or 20 round mag.

Thanks a lot for your help. I already found it strange, that you see than quite a lot. (especially compared to the Fg42's ) I did believe it for a while, because germanmilitaria.com also calls it a Fg 42 "ausstosser"

What would than the value be?

In Norway a lot of these were brought up from a lake not longe ago, together with some MG15`s and a lot of MG15 drums. The price in Norway is aprox $50-55,- if its in good condition.

I bought mine for 40 USD (30something euro) here in germany.
There was also a pic(which i saved on my hd) with the auction from a book that shows it as accesory for FG42
