Hello to everyone!
I have been reading threads on this forum for a while and now need help concerning some stuff I picked up on a fleamarket the last weekend near Munich, my hometown. My field of collection is US stuff but once in a while I stumble over German stuff and pick it up and trade it with fellow collectors for US gear. So I have a rough idea about the basic things of German militria. To make things short I came across a Luftwaffe lot that came from one man. It was the first stall I ran by this morning and there was this woman selling a schoulder board and brown leather gloves. I looked at the things and she then asked me if I was interested in such things. I told her that I am a collector and she then gave me a box with a lot of one Luftwaffe Feldwebel. This woman told me that she got everything from an old woman whose husband served at the Russian front.
Normally I leave things because they are very expensive but the whole lot was really cheap so I picked it up.
I will post pics as soon as I find out how but for now I will describe the things as best as I can:
- one Luftwaffe Belt Buckle,Aluminum, unpainted in very good condition
- shoulder board Luftwaffe Feldwebel, yellow piped
- "Flugbuch" "Flightbook" pre-war dated and lots of flights documented with gliders
- glider flying licence with picture
- Luftwaffe white (summer?) hat with yellow piping and all insignias(metal), size is roughly a 59-60 and condition is almost mint, only some small dirt spots on the white cover
-pair of brown unlined gloves, I think that they are paragloves because I looked at some books I have, they have three little springs inside for keeping them close to the wrist and a size stamp that says 8 1/2 but nothing else, condition is mint exept one who has a small scratch
- first aid bandage dated 1940
Any comments/identifications are appreciated!
Thanks so far!
Fabian
