Fallschirm Pioneer with german cross

I was glad to show you my lastest group. Schumacher was a Fallschirm Pioneer, fighting in <st1:country-region><st1 ="">Russia</st1></st1:country-region> and by Monte Cassino.<o =""></o>

This group was sold by Weitze weeks ago. One of our swedish frieds buy this outstanding group. It took me much money to get this group.


Heinz Schumacher was born 1920 in <st1 ="">Holstein</st1> (Schleswig Holstein).


He started his career with the 3./Fallschirm Pionierbatl.


This photo shows Heinz. In the background his brother Reinhard. He died 1943 in <st1:country-region><st1 ="">Russia</st1></st1:country-region>

Kreta<o =""></o>



This 3./Fallschirm Pionierbatl. Was transferd with light motor Segler. During the yourney to Kreta all ships was sunk by english cruisers.<o =""></o>

Schumacher goes swimming. Therefor he got his swimming cuff title.<o =""></o>

After Kreta the Fallschirm Pioneer Batalion was served to <st1:country-region><st1 ="">Russia</st1></st1:country-region>. It took place at the front of Leningrad – defending the “Wespennest”<o =""></o>

At the 16.11.1941 the hell comes over the wespennest. The Russians comes over the “neverland” and jumped into the Wespennest. After getting artillerie fire into the own lines. After fire stoped only one poor maschine gun was able to fire into the russian. It was the MG from the Schumacher brothers – Heinz an Reinhard.<o =""></o>

Heinz jumped with this MG out of his hole and takes 34 Russian for POW.

The ek2 was awarded.

After fighting and dying in <st1:country-region><st1 ="">Russia</st1> </st1:country-region>the Battalion comes for short time to the <st1:state><st1 ="">normandy</st1></st1:state>.

After leaving the <st1:state><st1 ="">normandy</st1> </st1:state>the Falschirm Pioneer Batalion was transported to the russian front near SMOLENSK-WITEBSK-KNOBLOCHHÖHE

After get back to his group Heinz fight in Sicilia and comes with his group to small village called Monte Cassino. <o></o>

He take place in the town and fight against the Allies in the so called second battle of Monte Cassino.<o></o>

After the <st1:City><st1lace>Cassino</st1lace></st1:City> fight the Fallschrimpioneer Batl. 1 fight in <st1:country-region><st1lace>Italy</st1lace></st1:country-region>. Oktober 1944 the 3. Fallschirmpioneer Batl. 1 got the order to start an attak against the Canadian at The “green Line”. Heinz meet tanks. Heinz don`t like tanks. The first one:<o></o>

After destroying his third tank Heinz was missing in action since 1944.
