Sorry, I agree. Not a period badge. As for the Vet's son. I guess you must ask yourself: to the best of his knowledge, does he think it is real? Or, is he trying to pull a fast one?
Avoid saying it is bad, even if you know it is. Give him the benefit of the doubt. Offer to let him see the comments on the Forum. Tell him, 'I'm just not comfortable with it'. Let us be the bad guys, not you. As you probably know, if you put him on the defense, it'll be harder to get your money back.
And after all, isn't that all you really want!
