    Fallschirmjäger casualty?

I just picked up this photo of a Gebirgsjäger musing over a helmet with a FJ cover. It's possible the owner is under the rubble - with one foot projecting. Unfortunately there is no description on the rear to confirm where this took place. Despite this, it's still an interesting image.

    Interesting picture

The shoe is a Bergschuh - maybe of a Gebirgsjäger?!
And the Cover was put over a M-35/40 helmet...
So maybe this pic was taken either in Crete or Monte Cassino and shows a Gebirgsjäger mourning for his comrade?

Yes - probably GBJ, but clearly in close contact with Fallschirmjäger. It’s a nice example of the non-standard (but certainly not rare) practice of other troops wearing the FJ cover. A sensible expediency in a combat situation.

Thats not a date, just the 10th print made of 27 prints of that image.

                Does 10/27 not mean:
                - photo number 10
                - from photographic film number 27 or photos serie number 27
