Patrick, are your superb mannequins still on display in the museum?

I might be in that area this fall.

Since we have so many fine collectors posting, it would be nice to organize a "Sammlertreffen" at a museum such as "Baugnez44", which I haven't been to since 2013.

No mannequins from me, but here is a smock I really enjoy. It came from a US veteran in 1976 via a collector in Texas. I bought it 20 years ago with a lot of help and advice from Willi . He wrote me a long description of the smock and explained it had a missing button and had (original?) dirt on it, but in his opinion it should be left as is . Well, I am glad to say I listened to his advice. I love the mix of light and heavy-weight splinter material ( including small pieces of t/w - like the side tabs ) -and I really love the green bias of the splinter background . Rather intriguingly - there was a small bundle of blonde hair wrapped in an ancient tissue in one of the pockets.

Steve, I remember that smock and the transaction.

A fascinating smock Steve, lovely condition yet nicely combat worn too, in my view the perfect balance. You have provided me with great advice and pointers over the years on building my own small collection, as Willi says, the FJ community on here is a great and generous one.
A symposium is a great idea too.

I need to buy some decent lights and dig out the D7000, but these cheap ones and phone will have to do for now.

I always thought the FJs during the Gran Sasso raid looked cool. Especially the FJ with the Gewehrgranatgerät. Will have to grab one of these bored troops from the basement and put him to work and replicate that FJ. As discussed before, it is tough to find nice mannequins in the US, and these came from an auction rather cheaply.

This field gear will indeed look better on a mannequin, with a netted helmet. You guys with all your cool set-ups are great motivators.
