    Fallschirmjäger jump cards

    Hello guys,

As the lockdown is complete in France, we have time to make some archival work. i've scanned the recent finds. These are jump cards, found by Herlé near Brest in many years ago. Some were for sale so i manage to keep them as a lot as much as possible.. two were already sold unfortunately.

They were for some of them published in Veltze's book 3 page 316.

According to Herlé's researches, these cards have been established for members of the Fallschirmjäger-Lehr-Btl of the XI.Fliegerkorps before their arrival in Brittany (France) to form the new II Batallion FJR.7.
At the back can be seen the list and dates of jumps. In green jumps without issues and in Red , jump accidents. Obergefreiter Paul Weber jumped over Crete as mentionned on his card. he had a jump accident during his 9th jump in July 1942.

    Here are some of them.

Question: What is a "manual jump" [manueller Sprung]?

I know about day jumps, equipment jumps, "Hollywood jumps" (no equipment), evening jumps, mass tactical jumps, and combat jumps ... but .... "manual jumps?"

      Thanks,

Interesting, but I am not familiar with these. A different type which does not appear to record jump height, aircraft type, etc, etc.

I didn't realize they were in Karl's Volume 3, so will have a look.
